Welcome to L’Esprit Property Homeowners Association Website
Simply a Fabulous Place to Live; Close to Louisville, Far from Ordinary
L’Esprit is a beautiful and unique equestrian development located just outside of Louisville, Kentucky. You couldn’t find a more beautiful setting with over 5,000 acres of horse farms and beautiful homes in the country. We are only 10 minutes from downtown La Grange which is a quaint little town with lots of things to do and great places to eat. In addition, Oldham County is filled with beautiful places to visit and has just become the “Farm Tour Capital of Kentucky.” We are very proud of our diverse community.
Oldham County is a great place to be. Oldham County school district has the highest ranking in Kentucky in the 2012 K-PREP Test Scores. The Oldham County School District was ranked in the top 4% of districts throughout the state which places the Oldham County schools in the “Distinguished” category.
L’Esprit is one of the only communities in the United States that has twenty-five miles of private riding paths along Harrods Creek and throughout the 5,000 acre development. Whether you have horses or just love being in a beautiful county setting, L’Esprit is a special place that you won’t find anywhere else
L’Esprit was developed in the mid 1980’s as an Arabian horse community. Over the years as the area has grown, these Arabian horse farms have given way to different breeds of horses and disciplines including thoroughbreds, hunter-jumpers, and endurance and dressage horses. There are working training centers, such as Highpointe Training Center and LaCroix Rehabilitation and Training Center and other large acreage farms.
Many of the large tracts have been subdivided into smaller residential tracts that range from 5 acres to over 500 acres. Some of the tracts are used for agriculture, some are owned by people who want to have their horses on their property and others are owned by those who want acreage and enjoy living in an equestrian community.
The L’Esprit Property Homeowners Association was officially incorporated January 6th, 1986. The Board of Directors is elected by the LPOA members at the annual meeting. This Board meets on a regular basis to conduct business relating to maintenance and beautification of the front entrance and common areas as well as to discuss matters that may come before the Board. Property owners are welcome to attend any meetings which will be posted on the website.
