L’Esprit Community: As you pass through any of the several lovely L’Esprit entrances you realize you are in an exceptional place with over 4100 acres of horse farms and estate homes. It is haven for horse lovers and nature enthusiasts. If you want to relax and simply look at horses galloping the green hills amid the iconic fences, take a riding lesson, invite your friends to come to the bed and breakfast, hike Harrods Creek, or ride your horse on the Bridle Path, L’Esprit is for you.
The Bridle Path: The crown jewel of L’Esprit is the private Bridle Path, an amenity established for the exclusive use of the members. Although L’Esprit contracts out work to maintain the Bridle Path, volunteers throughout the community gather regularly for trail clean up days, to share a laugh, and have a picnic or barbecue afterwards. It’s a wonderful way to meet neighbors, share experiences, all while maintaining the most unique feature of L’Esprit.
L’Esprit History to Present: L’Esprit was developed in the mid-1980’s as an Arabian horse community. Over the years the Arabian horse farms have given way to different breeds of horses and disciplines including trail horses, race horses, hunters, jumpers, as well as endurance, western pleasure, reiners, and dressage horses. There are several horse breeding, training, and rehabilitation facilities as well as and many other large acreage agricultural farms. Many of the larger tracts have been divided into residential and commercial tracts ranging from 5 to over 500 acres.
Sub-developments: A few larger tracts have been developed into sub-developments such as Estates of L’Esprit, and Stanton Estates in Henry County, and Woods of L’Esprit in Oldham County. The wonderful estate homes in these developments are accented by the surrounding green space, the iconic 4-board black fencing, and the magnificent views of the green hills and distant horses.
L’Esprit Volunteer Committees: a) Architectural Control Committee (ACC) serves as the managing body for all construction within L’Esprit, b) Maintenance Committee oversees the overall condition of properties such as fencing and natural growth, c) Bridle Path Committee, d) Nomination and Election Committees.
Everyone in L’Esprit shares the love of the countryside, the gorgeous views, the friendly neighbors, and the magnificent equine scenery. We can all stand proud of such a magnificent slice of heaven that we can call home.
Welcome to our L’Esprit!
